Reporting to the Director of Athletics, Sports and Student Wellness, the incumbent is responsible for:

  • the team management and all head coaching responsibilities of the Keyano Women’s Volleyball team which includes all aspects of the student athletes’ athletic and academic time at the College. As the Head Coach, the primary purpose is to provide leadership of the sports program through the coaching, recruitment, retention and public relations duties required in organizing a competitive and successful team, while promoting academic success for the student-athletes under their supervision. Key accountabilities include leading a competitively successful program, promoting student-athlete academic success, maintaining an active and focused recruiting plan, managing a yearly budget and promoting positive community relations, utilize instructional techniques to ensure delivery of coaching strategies. The incumbent provides a wide range of services such as sport technical expertise, promotion, conflict resolution and guidance to student-athletes, groups and individuals, concerned with sport development. The position requires a knowledge and understanding of community, provincial, national and international trends in sport development activities and opportunities. You need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and community-driven to take on this exciting role. This position requires someone equipped with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player.
  • the promotion, planning and execution of all community outreach components of Huskies Athletics. This includes all Huskies teams and mascot while promoting grass root development of Sport in the region.He/She will represent Keyano College and work with the management team to develop and implement initiatives that increase visibility and relationships within the surrounding community.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or equivalent Diploma or Degree
  • 2 years’ experience as a head coach at high school or college level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
